Turf Care
We are able to create grassed areas from either seed or locally produced turf.
The quality of established areas can be improved using various methods such as scarification and aeration. Scarification is the removal of ‘thatch’ (dead organic matter), which has built up at the base of the leaves of the grass plant. Aeration relieves compaction of the upper surface to allow air and water to get to the roots. For larger areas such as playing fields, the use of a ‘verti drain’ machine is recommended as this works at a greater depth.
Finally, in order to improve soil fertility and structure, a top dressing, consisting of our own organic compost is applied as well as grass seed.
